Exercise Is King. Nutrition Is Queen. Put Them Together And You've Got A Kingdom.
Nutrition is one of the most difficult parts of being an athlete. Am I eating too much? Am I eating enough? Can I substitute this with that? In our upcoming Nutrition based blog posts we will explore the main aspects of nutrition that you should be concentrating on, how to prepare for a race, and what you should be eating on the race day itself.
Nutrition is a discipline that is so individualised and is ever changing with training habits, age, and situation. It can often be overwhelming to plan your nutrition if you go all the way down to counting single calories. The most important part of any athlete's nutrition regime is that you are matching your consumption with your training habit - increased training will always lead to an increased energy output leading to the need for larger consumption of food.
In order to help you plan some healthy homemade meals and give some simple nutritional advice we are sharing a recipe resource provided by the United States Olympic Committee. It contains recipes for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Salads, Soups, Desserts, Energy Bars, and Smoothies & Juice.
